What begins as a quest for wealth or adventure becomes a race against time to alter the course of a world's destiny! Players find themselves as explorers of the untamed wilds, patriotic soldiers of their crown, merchants seeking profits in strange lands or perhaps even follow a more disreputable life. Mapping ruins, pluming tombs and following one's trade soon begins to take on a new and unexpected meaning. As new lands are traversed and new cultures are encountered, they begin to discover ancient writs that point toward a dark and foreboding future... The Absolution, the End of All Things!
The trek for fame or wealth becomes a quest to seek the writs of the ancient past in order to find an answer to the terrible future. Yet the task will not be easy. Kingdoms tangle with political venom, faiths seek to destroy thatwhich conflicts with their doctrines, and guilds create all new myths and tales, seeking to profit from the anxiety of the masses. Players may find themselves standing against their own realms, at odds with their own faiths, and combating their own prejudices on the quest to find the truth. Yet not all seek to stand against the tide of fate; will your character attempt to halt The Absolution, or bring it about? Exploration, intrigue, espionnage and war stand in your way, yet also does a hidden force that twists the world to its will!
