Prophecy Gallery

Fantasy is expressed through many mediums; the written word, a musical score, the acting of a part, but nothing makes a faster and greater impact than the visual image.  Prophecy leaps from the printed page through striking illustrations throughout the manuals.  From the Prime Races and the world of Aesil'Dan around them to the monstrosities seeping through the fissure in space from the invading world of Axterath, the craft and passion of each artist can be felt in their work.

It is truly a privilege to have such masterful talent bringing the writs and visions of this world to life.
"High Captain Baron Earst Gurust" - 23rd of the Throne, he is a veteran commander and able soldier.  His position as the front line defense from both Cannadoorn and Lor Donguel makes even him a bit on edge.  He questions everyone and everything, but is a decisive decision maker despite this.  While he believes in fair trials, he believes in securing his kingdom first.             -Sarah Frary
"Combat" - A scene of battle that graces the new Stand-Alone Player Manual, it demonstrates a blending of cultures and engineering prowess.  The Minor Kingdoms are a hotbed of war where game masters can create any culture, tactics or equipment he needs.     -Bryan Gibson
"The Eyes of the Fallen" - The first One-Hex-Adventure (OHA-01) is a digital montage depicting the mysterious ancient tombstone found atop the overgrown mountain, Ridgepyre.  The legends surrounding the crypt of one of Ravenoft's founders describe that a prophetic secret can be uncovered there by one who knows the means!-Gregory S. Hancock

"The Party" - Diverse people make for diverse experiences... and diverse opinions.  Many explorers consider it  a show of faith to include all of the Prime Races in their group, and some even see the lack of all four Prime as a sign of dire fortune.  This does not always sit well with all concerned, however, but, ah, the sacrifices we make... in order not to become sacrifices ourselves!             -Bryan Gibson
"Darkness" - There are tales of shadows that live in the wilds and prey upon the unwary traveler.  Shadows that drift from dark to dark, seeking life to consume.  To a few brave souls it is known... the rumors are true!  -Sarah Frary
"The ValRath" - Once they were the heroes of the NelVan of Aldana, now the Mhirrin has altered them and they are exiled.  Yet the ValRath hardly see their world as a prison, for they are more powerful than ever, wielding mana and Mhirrin!     -Martin Alvarado
"High Baron Jurallhr Aeur" - Some feel it is a shame that Jurallhr is only 20th of the Throne, especially the folk of Timberfall, the great city under his power.  A man of means who has taken to the distractions of theater and rides beyond his city walls, he is still a strong leader ready to accept the mantle of High Captain, should war call him.       -Sarah Frary
"High Captain Baron Aex Rentblade" -The power of Warcleft.  As 15th of the Throne, he is a grizzled veteran, having put down dozens of  rebellions, personally leading his men against rogues and leading patrols of the Lor Donguel border.  His men fear and revere him, his citizens shrink away yet are grateful of such a daunting protector.  He is not a man to cross, nor to underestimate.                  -Sarah Frary
"The Alchemist's Lab" - The NelVan is long lived, and he has through the years gathered to himself hundreds of recipes.  Perhaps he has yet to find one to truly distinguish himself, or to establish himself at the head of his family line, but there are always new experiments to perform.  Perhaps one of those will be the key?                                                                          -Bryan Gibson
"The Tagaren" - Shadows of the forest, this subrace escaped the talons of their Grahgon masters after Axterath invaded Aesil'Dan.  They now live in the tangled forests of the east coast in a realm the Brandel call N'Tkh Stagure, the Tagaren Holdfast.  Intelligent as men, as agile as cats, they seek only solitude and an end to their war... but they will resort to violence if they must.

Tagaren have thus far never been seen near civilization.  They are nomadic within their territories, accomplished woodsmen, often shunning weapons and armor in favor of stealth and guile.  Many are alchemists, and all strive for a unity with nature that the civilized world could not comprehend.

The Tagaren are included as a playable subrace in the new stand-alone Player Manual, though when they shall make their entrance onto the world stage, and how, is yet unknown.

  -Gregory Hancock
"High  Baron Farard Boldshield" - He is 6th of the Throne, large and stately, of noble birth and of great influence.  Farard, as a High Baron, has two votes within any court west of Begdin’s Tower, effectively making him the highest authority in all of the seven northwestern provinces.  He is shrewd in business and weighty in politics, respected in Kalismar, feared by lawbreakers, admired by the nobility and under scrutiny by the crown.  He is one of the High Barons that could sway support for the king, and all know this.  -John Stanko
"Wellfinder" - In the blasted desert of the Khoram, life hangs by a thread.  Men have died crossing the sands needlessly, their bodies falling upon a reservoir of life just beneath the sand.  If only they knew to follow the wellfinders, their lives could have been spared!   -Rhonda Libbey
"Mounted Combat" - The world of Aesil'Dan changes once a mount is acquired.  Great distances become accessible, roads become safer for travel, cultures that were once a world away are now just off the trail.  In addition to more speed, a party has more carrying power... and above even this, a good mount may save the rider's life!  -Bryan Gibson
"Guneru" - Lithe and beautiful the guneru hunt upon the Khoram Plains of Galleran.  These speedy animals are often domesticated, and the garrison town of Tolkan they are even bred and trained for racing.  -Gregory Hancock
"Bladeback" - The 'Hyde' of the guneru; when exposed to the power of the Mhirrin, the elegant animals twist into blade-backs; viscious and intelligent monsters that hunt men by stealth and terror.          -Rhonda Libbey
"Huntsman Hall" - The RaDeln'Shul, or 'patrollers of the wilds,' usually meet by campfires to speak of their findings.  In Galleran they have the mighty Huntsman Hall, where talk is of trapping game ... and bounties.-Rhonda Libbey
"Gelling Alchemist" - The normally jovial and curious Gelling are pre-disposed to mischief, and sometimes it grows into a profession.  Often they are found skulking about where they ought not be, but at times they skulk about magics, not places!           -Bryan Gibson
"D'rai Auth" - Not only a monster of nightmares, but one that creates them as it feeds on the intellect of its victims.  The horriffic vissage of the d'rai auth is not to cause damage but to terrify; to this creature, intelligence is sustainance, but terror is candy!       -Martin Alvarado
"Power to Cast" - The offensive spell, "Ball Lightning" is not only very effective at clearing out many foes, it is surprisingly accessable to a mage in the right circles.  Unlike the standard lightning bolt, Ball Lightning can errupt amid several targets and cause equal damage to all of them.  The accompanying roar of thunder may send the rest running!        -Bryan Gibson
"Grohl Tracker" - Mistaken for monsters, often they are unserestimated by their bestial forms, the Grohl are a race of intelligent beings, and they are capable of truly terrifying deeds!            -Lisa McGowan
"City of Vigilance" - The mighty city of Vigilance stands astride the border between the kingdoms of Galleran and Delren Bouar.  It is a place of treaty and of trade, where half of the architecture reflects each culture in the Alliance.  Mighty walls symbolize the power of each nation to defend the peoples within, and the great, paved Whitestone Highway represents the openness of the crowns.  Yet all is not peace and goodwill here; for the flags of Galleran also whisper to the Bouarans  of the strength of their vastly mightier neighbor, and the knife's edge of their soverignty.  -Sarah Frary
